Whether you love or hate it, Valentine’s Day comes around every year. And who am I to turn down the chance for another round of candy? (The day after, naturally, when everything goes on sale simply because it’s in a red or pink wrapper)
And while I can’t quite figure out the obsession around fruit-flavored chalk, conversation hearts remain a staple of the heart-centric holiday. (What the hell was wrong with us that so many confections were like this in the 80s—and we loved them?!) The sayings haven’t improved much, though, not in my opinion.
I say it’s high time the world acknowledged that not all of us enjoy ourselves. (Also, let’s stamp those messages on something worth eating, why don’t we)
So I decided to craft some messages of my own, more suited to the modern era we find ourselves living in.
My phone is waiting for any candy company who wants to give me a ring. (Day or night if you work in chocolate)
No, I didn’t draw these graphics; I used Canva to create them. And you’re free to use them. But, if you do, I’d appreciate you doing me the solid of crediting me and linking back here. Mostly because coming up with ideas that fit into the available space wasn’t easy. And, really, it’s common courtesy.
