What turned the world around as a child? A sticker! Those colorful images, be they puffy, metallic, googly-eyed, or merely sporting our favorite cartoon character never failed to brighten the day. Even when they accompanied a teacher’s message to “Do Better Next Time!”
So why not continue the trend? The adult world needs the same colorful encouragement (more so, if you ask me).
With minor adjustments to suit today’s accomplishments.
You made it out of your comfortable fort of blankets and pillows! If that isn’t worthy of a gold star, nothing is. Slap this baby on your forehead and let the world know nothing can stop you now!
There are limitations, and then there are amazing souls (like you) who knock down those walls and check off astounding tasks! You could have thrown on sweats or skipped getting dressed altogether. But you screwed up your courage—and energy—and stepped under that hot water. You are amazement itself.
It was a rough day, with excessive demands on your brain. And even though you felt exhausted and worn out, you decided to take on one more challenge. You knew there’d be pain, you knew you’d suffer, but did you let that stop you? NO! You grit your teeth and stood exposed (or not—nothing wrong with being fully clothed) in front of that unforgiving mirror. You are a superstar.
There’s an insane amount of peer pressure out there. We’re talking social media, friends, family, even strangers you encounter on the street. Everyone feels entitled to give you direction. But did you cave in? No, you did not! You withheld the smile you didn’t feel for THE WHOLE DAY! You go, you little raincloud of misery!
It took a lot of work, more sleepless nights than people can imagine, and a willpower that defies all description, but you pulled it off! You broke down and gave into that overwhelming sadness plaguing you all day ( all week? All month?). Display this award with pride—you’ve earned it!
Is this the rarest volume in existence—sought by the most distinguished collectors around the world? Possibly. Or maybe it’s nothing more than the most prestigious sticker in the universe! Despite an antagonizing inner voice constantly putting you down and a weight of worthlessness dragging your shoulders down, you dug DEEP and found a tiny nugget about yourself to love. If you don’t slap this baby somewhere prominent for everyone to see, you’re doing the world a disservice.
The outside world marvels at how put-together you are. Co-workers feel no shame at heaping tasks upon your shoulders. Family members unburden themselves in your ear without batting an eye. Friends comment on your unwavering smile. And you have HAD IT! It’s time to proclaim to EVERYONE that you are wearing a mask (a gorgeous mask, but a mask nonetheless). Show them how fantastic a performer you are. Then revel in that double-take as they stare in shocked surprise.
