Can you believe Invisible Inks is two years old?!
Wow.
Two whole years of compiling pain, frustration, and misery into satirical little packages for all of you. (Not to mention two years of finding new ways to write essays!) I genuinely don’t know where the time has gone.
(Yes, I know—all of us say that since 2020 broke the Sacred Timeline)
I want to thank each and every one of you who has taken time out to:
Read my writing
Drop a little heart on a piece that resounded with you
Shared this humble corner of the writing world with someone
Recommended someone read a hermit crab essay or two
It means more than I can say.
Having somewhere to express my thoughts and feelings freely—without the pesky interference of an editor (as Aubrey Hirsch so quaintly put it in a recent post)—is awesome. I can explore new formats, scream out my bottled feelings, and (hopefully) call attention to plights that matter.
And I do this without setting up paywalls for my material. (Mostly because I convinced myself NO ONE would pay to read my writing)
But this is work—my work. It takes time and energy.
I’m going to continue posting everything, regardless of whether someone subscribes (because I’ve always said this Substack was free).
But if you would consider offering a tiny contribution, I would genuinely love you forever. And because of this anniversary, I’m offering a special discount for annual subscriptions:
Something to think about. If you love my writing and want me to continue putting it up here, maybe help towards my daily expenses (the Minions eat SO MUCH!).
Either way, I appreciate your presence.
Here’s to more years to come!
~Andi
Congrats on lasting this long. I moved here from Medium and couldn't be happier.
Happy two year anniversary of this wonderful Substack, And!
